Friday Night Hotel - Premier Travel Inn

Twin rooms have been booked for those requiring rooms on the Friday night.

Those booked are:

Rob Parkinson & Richard Paul
Will Parkinson & Mark Roberts
Oliver Hall & Richard Gregory

There is a Brewers Fayre right across the cark park so the suggestion is to meet up there for a bite to eat and a few beers in the evening.

The address for the hotel is:

West Portway Industrial Estate
Joule Road
Andover
SP10 3UX

Basically it's just off the A303 to the Western side of Andover (signed "Portway Industrial Estate").

Paint Balling - Harewood Forest, Nr Andover

First thing Saturday morning we are all meeting to do a bit of paintballing with Action Paintball at their Andover site.

We are booked to start at 9am. Apparently you need to allow allow about 10 minutes for the journey from the A303 turn-off to the site over some bumpy country roads (Map).

If you are using Sat Nav, the closest postcode I can find is: SP11 6LE (Cowdown Lane, Andover).

We've signed-up for the all day event but plan to leave around 2pm after a full morning of action. The £10 deposit we've all paid, get's us access to the site, full equipment (but not including ammo) and all food and drink for the day. On arrival it's up to us to add ammo sufficient for the day (500 shots are £30 - or 6p each shot!).

Karting - Thruxton Circuit

After paintballing we need to make our way to Thruxton Circuit to start the karting. It should take about 15-20 minutes to get between the two. The karting is booked for a 4pm start, we need to ensure we all arrive at least 30 minutes prior, so 3.30pm to be issued with equipment etc...

The website for the venue is here. A more detailed map is produced below:

Leave the A303 when you see the "Thruxton Circuit" turn-off. Then, on leaving the A303, follow the sign for the "Thruxton Karting and 4x4 Centre".

I guess most people have karted before so know what to wear. The confirmation states to wear thin soled trainers or deck shoes and be prepared for them to get wet if it is raining! A change of clothing is strongly recommended.

Saturday Night Hotel - Ibis, Southampton

Twin rooms are booked (and paid for) for us on Saturday night at the Ibis Hotel, Southampton. As the comedy club doesn't allow admissions past 8pm, we need to get to the hotel, checked-in and back out pretty quickly.

There is free on site parking at the Ibis, and the address is:

West Quay Road
Western Esplanade
SO151 RA

Suggested route from Thruxton is East bound on the A303, then South on the A34 to the M3 and onwards into Southampton. There is a back road through Salisbury but it's slow with lots of villages etc...

We are divided up as follows in the twin rooms:

Rob Parkinson & Richard Paul
Charles Brown & Mark Anderson
Oliver Hall & Richard Gregory
John Hyde & Chris Basset
Will Parkinson & Mark Roberts
Ben Bramley & Dave Solari
Simon Tang & Adam Huckstep
Mike Wiltshire & Mike Vernon

(All decided by Rob if anyone has any squabbles).

We need to meet asap, after checking-in, in the reception area to get off to Jongleurs.

Jongleurs Comedy Club Southampton

Saturday night's main entertainment is a visit to the Jongleurs Comedy Club in Southampton.

We have been told that no-one will be admitted after 8pm, as that is when the comedy starts. That is a fixed deadline, please make sure that if you not coming en-masse from the hotel, that you make it there with good time!

The address is: 2-4a High Street, Bargate, Southampton SO14 2DH. A map is on the website, and it should be about a 10min walk from the hotel.

We should be given a table, the chance to order eat the delightful food we've pre-ordered, and table service for drinks. Fingers crossed, we also get a T-shirt for Rob, a cake, and some guaranteed piss-taking directed at Rob by the compere.

After the comedy, it apparently turns into a nightclub until the small hours.
